Take part in #charitytuesday to promote charity

Most tweeters are all aware of #followfriday, the popular hashtag which has circulated for years to give “shouts out” to your favourite/best followers. Well next time, you should take part in #CharityTuesday on Twitter and Facebook, a similar sort of idea which promotes charities and non-profit organisations.

The idea was born (funnily enough on the night before on Monday night) by Darshan Sanghrajka, the co-founders of Lovebox, and it was an instant hit. It’s a great way to get involved without being pressure into donating money. It’s a simple way to contribute in the conversation or to show your support to charities.

#CharityTuesday on Tuesday

If you want to give a thumbs up to your favourite charity, all you have to do is place the charity with the hashtag #CharityTuesday on Twitter. Though it’s more well known via Twitter, the Facebook version of CharityTuesday has recently started. All you have to do is to the like fan page of the charity and post a status using @Charityname. That way, you can include a link to the charity’s fan page when you post on CharityTuesday and everyone can see that you love this charity and it’s something to get involved in.

Make sure you don’t miss out on #charitytuesday by a day, as Wednesday is #woofwednesday, a day which is significant for the dog-loving tweeters.
